Cavejaz【TAPE】- Fabiano do Nascimento

ブラジル出身で現在はLAと東京を拠点に活動する天才ギタリスト Fabiano do Nascimento が、2025年11月に名門 Leaving Records からリリースしたアルバムをストックいたしました！タイトルは、親交の深いLAのマルチ奏者 Sam Gendel（本作のアートワークも担当）の提案から生まれた造語で、「洞窟（Cave）の奥から響き出るようなジャズ（Jaz）」を想起させる、静かで深いアンビエント･ジャズの世界観を表しています。本作では、SSWの Jennifer Souza との交流をきっかけに、ブラジルの伝説的創作楽器集団 UAKTI（ウアクチ）の元メンバーである Paulo Santos との共演が実現しました。アルバムの前半は、2024年8月にブラジル南東部ベロオリゾンテで録音された彼らのセッションから構成。そして後半は日本で制作が進められ、国内からタブラ奏者の U-zhaan が参加しています。Fabiano が奏でる7弦や8弦ギターのナイロン弦の繊細な響きを中心に、Paulo によるPVCパイプ、ガラス、水、スポンジなどを用いた自作パーカッション、U-zhaan が刻む複雑なタブラのリズム、そして Jennifer Souza の透き通るようなボーカルが見事に融合し、スピリチュアルで瞑想的な音響空間を作り出しています。

Fabiano do Nascimento, a genius guitarist from Brazil who is currently based in LA and Tokyo, has an album in stock that will be released from the prestigious Leaving Records in November 2025! The title was coined at the suggestion of Sam Gendel, a multi-instrumentalist from LA (who is also in charge of the artwork for this album), who is a close friend of the band, and represents the quiet and deep world of ambient jazz that evokes the feeling of ``Jazz reverberating from the depths of a cave.'' In this work, I was able to collaborate with Paulo Santos, a former member of Brazil's legendary creative musical instrument group UAKTI, as a result of my interaction with SSW's Jennifer Souza. The first half of the album consists of their sessions recorded in Belo Horizonte, southeastern Brazil, in August 2024. The second half is being produced in Japan, with domestic tabla player U-zhaan participating.Focusing on the delicate reverberations of the nylon strings of the 7- and 8-string guitars played by Fabiano, Paulo's self-made percussion using PVC pipes, glass, water, and sponge, the complex tabla rhythms carved by U-zhaan, and Jennifer Souza's clear vocals all combine to create a spiritual and meditative acoustic space.
