Division【TAPE】- Sweet William

ビートメイカー／プロデューサーとして独自の音楽性を築いてきたSweet Williamによる、全10曲収録のインストゥルメンタル・アルバム『Division』がカセットテープで本日発売。

約2年の歳月をかけて制作された本作は、これまでのビートメイクを軸としたスタイルからさらに表現の幅を広げ、ビートレスな楽曲やアンビエント、映画のサウンドトラックを思わせるシネマティックな音像など、多彩なアプローチを展開。心地よいグルーヴと浮遊感のあるサウンド、繊細な音の重なりや余白を活かした楽曲構成など、Sweet Williamらしい温かみのある音色はそのままに、新たな音楽性を感じさせる作品に仕上がっています。

マスタリングはJoe Joaquin、アートディレクションおよびジャケットデザインは有山達也が担当。フロントカバーには写真家・白石ちえこの作品を使用。

“Division,” a 10-track instrumental album by Sweet William—who has established his own unique musical style as a beatmaker and producer—is released today on cassette tape.

Produced over the course of approximately two years, this album expands the scope of his artistic expression beyond his previous beatmaking-centered style, showcasing a diverse range of approaches—including beatless tracks, ambient music, and cinematic soundscapes reminiscent of film soundtracks. While retaining Sweet William’s signature warm tone—marked by comfortable grooves, ethereal sounds, and song structures that make use of delicate layering and negative space—the album presents a fresh musical direction.

Mastering was handled by Joe Joaquin, while Tatsuya Ariyama served as art director and designed the album cover. The front cover features a photograph by Chieko Shiraishi.

Starting from hip-hop, Sweet William breaks free from genre boundaries to explore new musical horizons.
