アメリカの国立博物館 スミソニアン協会が運営する、伝説的な民俗音楽レーベル Smithsonian Folkways の膨大なアーカイブ音源を、TTT の視点で再構築したミックス･コンピレーション･シリーズ第2弾！オーナーの Will Bankhead が選曲し、レーベルの礎を築いた第1弾に続いて、第2弾を担当するのはロンドンを拠点とするプロデューサー Beatrice Dillon。現代の電子音楽シーンにおいて「最も独創的で精密なリズムの探求者」と称される彼女が、アフリカの儀式音楽から、バハマの宗教歌、カナダ平原のインディアンの音楽など、多岐にわたるユニークな民族音楽をコンパイル。単なる民族音楽の紹介にとどまらず、複雑なドラムのリズムや、実験的な音の響きに焦点を当てており、彼女の音楽性にも通じる「打楽器的な感性」が凝縮された素晴らしいミックステープに仕上がっております。

This is the second installment in a mix compilation series that reconstructs the vast archive of Smithsonian Folkways, a legendary folk music label run by the Smithsonian Institution, the American National Museum, from TTT's perspective! Following the first installment, which was curated by owner Will Bankhead and laid the foundation for the label, the second installment is handled by London-based producer Beatrice Dillon. Described as "the most original and precise explorer of rhythm" in the contemporary electronic music scene, she compiles a wide range of unique folk music, from African ritual music to Bahamian religious songs and the music of the Canadian Plains Indians. Rather than simply introducing folk music, she focuses on complex drum rhythms and experimental sounds, resulting in a wonderful mixtape that condenses the "percussive sensibility" that is also reflected in her musicality.
