The Cool Kids & Don Cannonによる『Gone Fishing』は、2009年5月5日にミックステープとして発表された作品であり、The Cool Kidsの公式デビューアルバム『When Fish Ride Bicycles』へとつながる前日譚的な位置付けの一作である。前作『The Bake Sale』で頭角を現し、“The Blog Era”と呼ばれる新世代ヒップホップの中心的存在としての地位を確立した翌年にリリースされた重要作。本作には、Nas、Lil' Wayne、Big Seanらとのミックステープで知られるDJ/プロデューサー/レコード・エグゼクティブ、Don Cannonが全面的に参加。The Cool Kidsとのコラボレーションにおいて、彼のキャリアの中でも最も成功を収めたミックステープのひとつとされる。

“Gone Fishing” by The Cool Kids & Don Cannon was released as a mixtape on May 5, 2009, and serves as a prequel to The Cool Kids' official debut album, “When Fish Ride Bicycles.” This significant release came the year after the group made a name for themselves with their previous work, *The Bake Sale*, and established themselves as central figures in the new generation of hip-hop known as “The Blog Era.” The album features the full participation of DJ, producer, and record executive Don Cannon, known for his mixtapes with artists such as Nas, Lil’ Wayne, and Big Sean. This collaboration with The Cool Kids is considered one of the most successful mixtapes of his career.
