In 2000, while gearing up for the release of his debut album *Power of the Dollar*, 50 Cent survived a harrowing shooting incident in which he was struck by nine bullets. Although he survived, his label—fearing further trouble—dropped him, and the album was shelved. Undeterred, he traveled to Canada with his partner Sha Money XL to record in seclusion, compiling a mix of previously unreleased tracks and new material for this self-produced project. Following the mixtape's massive success on the streets, word reached Eminem, who introduced 50 Cent to his partner, Dr. Dre. This connection paved the way for him to secure major deals with Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope. This is a landmark release—a pinnacle of 2000s street rap—that served as the starting point for a man who literally "rose from the dead" to rewrite hip-hop history. We invite you to experience it with the authentic texture of the original mixtape, capturing the atmosphere of that era.
