Hate In My Heart【TAPE】- Dntel

1990年代後半から活動を続け、2000年代のエレクトロニカやインディー･ポップの融合において歴史的に極めて重要な役割を果たしたパイオニア Jimmy Tamborello によるソロ･プロジェクト Dntel。2018年8月にサプライズ･リリースされた本作は、彼にとって約4年ぶりとなるソロ作品です。自身の代表的なプロジェクトである The Postal Service のポップなエレクトロ路線とは大きく異なり、非常に内省的で実験的なアプローチが取られています。2017年に自宅でレコーディングされた本作は、タイトルからも窺えるように、当時のアメリカにおける政治的な緊張感や社会情勢に対する「実験的な電子音楽による瞑想」として制作されました。Buchlaのシンセサイザーに様々なエフェクト･ペダルを組み合わせ、モジュラー･シンセ特有の予測不能な揺らぎや、アンビエント、ノイズ、ドローンといった抽象的でディープな電子音響が構築されております。

Dntel is the solo project of Jimmy Tamborello—a pioneer who has been active since the late 1990s and played a historically pivotal role in the fusion of electronica and indie pop during the 2000s. Released as a surprise in August 2018, this work marked his first solo release in approximately four years. Departing significantly from the pop-oriented electronic sound of his most well-known project, The Postal Service, this record adopts a deeply introspective and experimental approach. Recorded at home in 2017, the project—as the title suggests—was conceived as a "meditation through experimental electronic music" on the political tensions and social climate in the United States at that time. By combining a Buchla synthesizer with various effects pedals, Tamborello crafts a soundscape defined by the unpredictable fluctuations characteristic of modular synthesis, alongside abstract, immersive electronic textures—ranging from ambient and noise to drone.
