Liberty【TAPE】- TOMC

We have received an album by Japanese beat and ambient producer TOMC, originally released in March 2021. The album was issued via the renowned Canadian label Inner Ocean Records, and its cassette edition sold out in just two days—a testament to the high acclaim it garnered both in Japan and abroad. As the title suggests, the work explores themes such as the meaning of "liberty" and the importance of curiosity in our world. While rooted in a "chill-out" aesthetic, the album—which TOMC himself describes as being "composed of countless sonic particles designed to awaken the listener and spark curiosity"—features meticulous sound craftsmanship where every single note stands out. The collection comprises 14 instrumental hip-hop tracks infused with the beautiful, ethereal textures of New Age music.
