1980年代末から1990年代初頭にかけてジャマイカで活動していた、生粋のダンスホール･レゲエ･ディージェイ Tuffest が、1990年に VP Records からリリースしたアルバムのデッドストック･テープです。本作はプロデューサーの落合尊一をはじめ、ジャケット写真を撮影した著名カメラマンの菊地昇、そして日本人レゲエ･シンガーの先駆者である NAHKI らとともに制作され、90年代初頭のジャマイカの熱気と日本のレゲエ黎明期の情熱が融合して生まれたデジタル･ダンスホールの隠れた名作として知られている作品です！アルバム全体を通して Tuffest の持ち味である骨太でマシンガンのようなトースティングが炸裂しており、"Working Class"(A2)ではジャマイカの厳しい現実や労働者の声を歌い、"Mighty Jah Jah"(A3)ではラスタファリズムの精神を宿すなど、現場を盛り上げるダンス･ナンバーからメッセージ･ソングまで、当時のダンスホール･ディージェイが備えるべきテーマが網羅されています。

This is a deadstock cassette tape of the album released in 1990 by VP Records featuring Tuffest, an authentic dancehall reggae DJ who was active in Jamaica from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. Produced in collaboration with figures such as producer Soichi Ochiai, renowned photographer Noboru Kikuchi (who shot the cover art), and NAHKI (a pioneer among Japanese reggae singers), this album is a hidden masterpiece of digital dancehall. It represents a fusion of the electric atmosphere of Jamaica in the early 90s and the passion of Japan's burgeoning reggae scene. Throughout the album, Tuffest unleashes his signature style—a robust, machine-gun-like "toasting" delivery. The tracklist covers the full spectrum of themes essential to a dancehall DJ of that era, ranging from high-energy dance tracks that ignite the crowd to message-driven songs; "Working Class" (A2) gives voice to the harsh realities of life in Jamaica and the working class, while "Mighty Jah Jah" (A3) embodies the spirit of Rastafarianism.
