Alice in Chains is the American rock band formed in Seattle in 1987 that spearheaded the 90s alternative rock movement as one of the "Big Four" grunge acts. Now available in a cassette edition is the audio from a legendary concert—arguably the most beautiful and intense performance of their career—recorded at the Majestic Theatre in Brooklyn on April 10, 1996. At the time, the band was on hiatus due to vocalist Layne Staley’s severe drug addiction; this show marked their return to the stage after roughly two and a half years. It remains the stuff of legend, remembered for the overwhelming vocal performance delivered by Layne despite his physically and emotionally battered state.
