パリとロンドンを拠点に、DJ /音楽研究家/コレクター、そしてドキュメンタリー作家として活動する Hadj Sameer。アルジェリアにルーツを持つ両親の影響で幼い頃より多様な文化に触れて育った彼は、80〜90年代にアルジェリアで隆盛した「ライ（Raï）」や、中東、アフリカの希少音源に精通し、カセットテープやレコードの膨大なアーカイブを所有。Rinse France のマンスリー･レジデントを務めるほか、NTS Radio でも番組をホストするなど、単に曲をかけるだけのDJにとどまらず、失われゆく音楽文化を掘り起こし、現代に繋ぐ音楽の考古学者のような存在として世界的に注目されています。サウス･ロンドン最深淵 The Trilogy Tapes からリリースされた本作では、ライ（Raï）を基盤にしつつ、レゲエ/ファンク/ソウル、そして電子音楽の要素をシームレスにミックス。TTT らしい、単なるワールドミュージックの枠に収まらない、実験的でエッジの効いた見事なミックステープに仕上がっております。

Based in Paris and London, Hadj Sameer works as a DJ, music researcher, collector, and documentary filmmaker. Influenced by his parents, who have Algerian roots, he grew up exposed to diverse cultures from a young age. He is well-versed in Raï, the Algerian genre that flourished in the 80s and 90s, as well as rare Middle Eastern and African music, and possesses a vast archive of cassette tapes and records. He is a monthly resident at Rinse France and hosts a show on NTS Radio, and is more than just a DJ who plays music; he is gaining global attention as a musical archaeologist who unearths disappearing musical cultures and connects them to the present day. Released on The Trilogy Tapes, the deepest reaches of South London, this mixtape seamlessly mixes elements of reggae, funk, soul, and electronic music, all based on Raï. It is a superb mixtape that is experimental and edgy, typical of TTT, and does not fit neatly into the category of world music.
