クロアチアのアートポップ･バンド MARINADA の一員であり、ラジオ番組のホストやDJなど20年以上にわたって活動する、クロアチアのリエカを拠点とするミュージシャン Robert Merlak が、ロンドンの実験音楽レーベル SWIMS から2024年に発表したテープ作品。本作は、同郷のリエカ現代美術館に収蔵されている、特殊な彫刻が施されたUSBメモリの中から、選りすぐりの楽曲を再構築して収録しています。モジュラー･シンセが奏でる不穏なドローンとヒスノイズのように断続的に交差する金属音や電子音による電子アブストラクト〜ドローン･テクノ、全8曲を収録。全世界50本限定リリース！

This 2024 cassette release comes from Robert Merlak, a musician based in Rijeka, Croatia—known as a member of the art-pop band MARINADA and for his work spanning over two decades as a radio host and DJ—via the London-based experimental music label SWIMS. The album features tracks reconstructed from a collection of specially sculpted USB drives housed at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka. Spanning eight tracks, the music ranges from abstract electronics to drone techno, characterized by unsettling modular synth drones and metallic or electronic sounds that cut through the mix intermittently like hissing noise. Limited to a worldwide run of just 50 copies.
