Retrogenesis【TAPE】- GODFATHER DON & PARENTAL

🇺🇸 “Retrogenesis,” a collaborative album by Godfather Don, a heavyweight of the NYC underground hip-hop scene, and Paris-based producer Parental

Centered around heavy drums and addictive loops, tracks like “Love Scene,” “The Medicine,” “Provocation,” and “Numbers” feature stripped-down production and Godfather Don’s one-of-a-kind flow that runs throughout the entire album. Featuring appearances by Alcynoos, Lex (de Kalhex), Debonair P, and Soul Intellect. The album also includes remixes by Venom, Figub Brazlevič, and Beat Warrior. The artwork for this album was created by Lex (de Kalhex), an artist who has also released works on ODD TAPE LABEL, shaping the album’s aesthetic not only musically but also visually. Godfather Don, who carries on the legacy of ’90s NYC hip-hop, and Parental, based in the Paris underground scene—combined with Lex’s artwork—result in an album where New York and Paris, music and art, intersect.
