SEPPUKU PISTOLS at L’Alimentation Générale【TAPE】- 切腹ピストルズ


2011年に日本で起きた東日本大震災と原発事故をきっかけに、パンクを挫折した4人によって結成された切腹ピストルズ。演奏するたびに入隊者希望が続出し、今や日本各地に30人弱が在籍する日本が誇る和楽器集団である。
近代のまやかしに対して、野良着に印袢纏、下駄に雪駄、菅笠を身に纏った“江戸時代”的スタイルで対抗を企み、全国各地で神出鬼没なパフォーマンスを披露。その活動は国内に留まらず、近年ではニューヨーク/ロンドン/パリなど、海外にも進出しその名を轟かせている。

そんな彼らが TANG DENG と ODD TAPE DUPLICATION のダブル･ネームで、初めてのライヴ音源を収録したカセットテープを300本限定でリリース！
本作は、’25年1月のパリ公演でのライブ･パフォーマンスを収録したものとなっており、彼らのトレードマークである、鉦/三味線/笛/太鼓といった日本の伝統楽器を使った、祭りや村おこし、神社仏閣などを彷彿とさせる通称「やかまし囃子」が、海を渡ったパリの地で観客たちの歓声も相まってエネルギッシュに鳴り響く、ドキュメンタリーのような内容となっております。

Seppuku Pistols was formed in 2011 by four members who had given up on punk after the Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear accident that occurred in Japan.

Every time they performed, they received an influx of applications to join the military, and now, with just under 30 members spread across Japan, they are a traditional Japanese instrument group that Japan is proud of.
They countered the gimmicks of modernity with an "Edo period" style, dressed in work clothes, branded hanten (traditional Japanese kimono) with geta (wooden sandals), sedge sandals, and sedge hats, and performed elusive shows all over the country. Their activities have not been limited to Japan; in recent years, they have made a name for themselves overseas, appearing in cities such as New York, London, and Paris.

Now, under the joint names of TANG DENG and ODD TAPE DUPLICATION, they have released a cassette tape of their first live performance, limited to 300 copies!
This work is a recording of a live performance from their Paris concert in January 2013. Their trademark "noisy music," which uses traditional Japanese instruments such as gongs, shamisen, flutes, and drums, is reminiscent of festivals, village revitalization events, shrines, and temples. Combined with the cheers of the audience, the music resonates energetically across the ocean in Paris, creating a documentary-like experience.
