LAの名門レーベル Leaving Records を主宰する音楽家 Matthewdavid が、Matthewdavid's Mindflight 名義で2016年に発表したニュー･エイジ/アンビエントの傑作アルバム。彼はもともとLAのローファイ･ビート･シーンの重要人物ですが、本作では1970～80年代の伝統的なニュー･エイジへの深い敬意を示しており、現代的なエレクトロニック･ミュージックの技術と精神的な癒やしを融合させ、独自の「ニュー･ニューエイジ」というジャンルを提示しました。シンセサイザー/フルート/ハープの音色に、瑞々しい水音や微分音的な響きがオーガニックに融合した全7曲を収録。テープ2本組の約87分に及ぶ長編作品となっております。聴き進めるほどに静かな浮遊感と深い瞑想感（マインドフライト）に包み込まれるような体験を味わえる素晴らしい仕上がりです！

This is a masterpiece of New Age/ambient music, released in 2016 by musician Matthewdavid—founder of the prestigious LA-based label Leaving Records—under the moniker "Matthewdavid's Mindflight." While originally a key figure in LA’s lo-fi beat scene, Matthewdavid here pays deep homage to the classic New Age music of the 1970s and 80s. By blending contemporary electronic music techniques with a sense of spiritual healing, he introduces a unique genre he calls "New New Age." The work consists of seven tracks that organically weave together the sounds of synthesizers, flutes, and harps with refreshing, fluid water textures and microtonal resonances. Spanning approximately 87 minutes across a two-tape set, this expansive project offers an immersive experience—as you listen, you are gradually enveloped in a serene, floating sensation and a profound, meditative state (a true "mindflight"). It is a magnificent piece of work!
