No Warning や Fucked Up のメンバーとしても知られる、カナダはトロント出身のカリスマ Ben Cook によるソロ･プロジェクト GUV。作品を発表する度に名義が変わっていく彼が、2026年1月に Run For Cover Records から新作をドロップ！先行シングル"Let Your Hands Go"(A1)はハードコアとは真逆の、全盛期の Oasis を彷彿とさせるようなギター･ロック･フィーリングを持ったキラーチューンを展開。トロントとイングランドを行き来する移動の最中に制作された楽曲が多く、アルバム全体に真夜中の高速道路を疾走するような心地よいスピード感と切迫感が漂っており、これまでのキャッチーなパワー･ポップ路線をベースにしつつも、本作では90年代のブリット･ポップやマッドチェスター、インディー･ダンスからの影響を色濃く反映した素晴らしい仕上がりとなっております！

GUV is the solo project of Canadian rock icon Ben Cook, also known for his work with No Warning and Fucked Up. Cook, whose name changes with each release, is dropping a new album in January 2026 via Run For Cover Records! The lead single, "Let Your Hands Go" (A1), is a killer tune with a guitar-rock feel reminiscent of Oasis in their prime, a stark contrast to his usual hardcore sound. Many of the tracks were created during his travels between Toronto and England, and the album as a whole exudes a comfortable sense of speed and urgency, like speeding down a highway in the middle of the night. While building on his previous catchy power-pop sound, this album is a fantastic piece that heavily reflects influences from 90s Britpop, Madchester, and indie dance!
